2+ years
In our 2 to 4 years class our students like to sing and dance! We do lots of singing-a-long songs as well as use of ribbons, hoops, their imagination and learn basic dance moves. This class is lots of fun and a great stepping stone for young dances.

What to wear:
All classes require uniform but for this age group we allow tutus, princess dresses and anything the feel they need to wear on the day. Shoes are not necessary until the concert or if they prefer to wear them please wear ballet pumps or jazz shoes.

This class learns and performs 3 routines for our end of year concert
Years Above
These classes all learn 3 different style routines. Mainly a Jazz, lyrical or contemporary, fun or funky dance. Depending on the theme chosen for the year and the students in the class. We work on the strength of the group as a whole as well as individual abilities of each student. These classes are relaxed and fun but with lots of structure and technique. Our age group classes are suggested for casual students. Boys and girls, beginners to advance and all in between.
What to wear:
We offer a full uniform but all students are required to wear our BDC tops (t-tshirt or singlets-singlets for students over 12) and either dance shorts or leggings. Jazz shoes are also required but not necessary unless for performances, end of term 3 and for our end of year concert.
Adults dance
These are our more casual classes from the Blackwood Company. These classes are made for adults who are looking for fun, fitness and to socialisation. In this class we do a lot of fitness and adjust our workouts to the students in the class, students also have a say with what type of workout and  what they would like to work on. We do however work towards our end of year concert and learn 3 different style dances but the concert is not compulsory
Tech & Dev
This class if for students who want more! Tech & Dev goes for an hour and a half where you work on your flexibility, tone your body, with many different types of work outs, fitness and muscle toning routines as well as being taught basic ballet, work on technique, traveling combinations and more. This class if made for students looking for a harder more challenging class. Mainly in this class you will learn contemporary or lyrical and sometimes a full Jazz routine. Ages 10 & up are welcome to join this class but must have a "can do"attitude.
Break off classes - Acro . Tap . Hip Hop . Ballet . Theatre
Our break off classes only teach the style described. You must wear the appropriate clothing and foot wear for these classes.

What to wear:
Acro - fitted clothing and hair in either a low bun or braids/plait.
Tap - uniform and tap shoes.
Hip Hop - Loose top or pants, hip hop shoes or sneakers, hair in high pony.
Ballet - Leotard, wrap skirt/dance shorts, hair in ballet bun, ballet shoes and stockings.
Theatre - Blackwood Dance Company Uniform with hair up & neat out of face
What you need for all classes
Please bring water to each class and if you have a few classes in a row bring a healthy snack or something to eat as well as appropriate clothing, hair and shoes.
Please no jeans or restricting clothing, skirts (unless shorts underneath), too small shorts and too low tops.
Students under 12 are asked not to wear singlets or short shorts.

Uniform is required for each class, if you need a uniform please ask your teacher for an order form.

Acro
Acro is a dance based type of gymnastics where students will learn all the basics from forward rolls, cartwheels, walk overs, all the way to hand springs, aerials and more. All classes are done under strict supervision and with acro mats, which is used in all classes as well as all their performances.
Hip Hop
All our hip hop classes will learn all styles of hip hop from old school to the new age. All classes learn floor work, traveling steps and lots of different combinations. Our routines and songs are age appropriate and are suited for both girls and boys.
Ballet
The Blackwood Dance Company's ballet classes are not set in grades. These ballet classes are run for students who are looking for more technique and strengthening. All students will learn the fundamentals of ballet as well as the technical terms and positions
We also offer Competitions!
Every year some students of the Blackwood Dance Company head to Busselton or Bunbury and compete in a range of competitions. We love going as this not only is an awesome experience for the students but is great bonding.
All competition work is done out of normal class hours and require commitment and weekend rehearsals. Prices for classes will depend on what you choose to do, we offer:
